Wayne Powell graduated from the University of British Columbia and was called to the Bar in 1969. He articled and practiced with the firm, becoming a partner in 1973.

Initially a successful litigator specializing in family law, the focus of his practice has now grown to include real estate, wills and estates, and corporate & commercial matters.

In addition, Wayne provides legal services and consultation to G&F Financial Group, BC's leading credit union with 53,000 members, 24 branches and over $4B in assets under administration.

Wayne is the author of the best-selling "BC Divorce Guide" for Self-Counsel Press which went to a 20th Edition.

Stuart is the senior counsel for the firm, providing litigation and trial services in the areas of insurance defence, construction disputes, and commercial disputes in association with the solicitors’ team.

Stuart holds an LLB from UVic and was called to the BC bar in 1990. After practicing in Victoria as a trial lawyer, he joined the firm in 1994, becoming a partner in 1997.

He is a member of the Canadian & BC Bar Associations, as well as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is a non-practicing member of the Washington State Bar Association. Stuart is seldom found without his French Bulldog Rafa, who you might find roaming the halls of the office, supervising the firm.

Andrew articled with the firm in 2013 and became a partner in 2018. He represents local and overseas clients in business law, commercial transactions, real estate transactions, leasing, and
franchising. He also advises on commercial disputes and personal injury claims with the firm’s litigation team.

 
Andrew is fluent in English and Korean. He is appointed as the legal advisor to the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Vancouver.

Andrew has served as chair of the Vancouver Korean-Canadian Scholarship Foundation & VP of the National Unification Advisory Council. Andrew completed his JD at UVic and BA in International Relations at UBC.

Bryan completed his JD at the University of Alberta in 2017 and holds a BA from UBC. After graduating from the UofA, Bryan completed his articles at a boutique law firm where he practiced estate planning & tax litigation.

At Powell, Gray & Kim LLP, Bryan focuses on wills and estates, civil litigation, corporate and commercial law, and insurance defence.

While in law school, Bryan was involved with Student Legal Services of Edmonton where he assisted the low income community with their criminal matters by providing legal information and representation in the Provincial Court of Alberta.

David earned his JD from the University of Alberta in 2018 and a BA from UBC.

Prior to joining PGK Lawyers, David articled and practised at a general practice firm in Richmond, where he worked on personal injury, estate litigation and family law files. David’s primary practice areas include civil & commercial litigation and insurance defence.

During law school, David volunteered with Student Legal Service in Edmonton and Law Student’s Legal Advice Program at UBC.

David speaks English and Korean.

Amrita completed her JD at TRU in 2018, and she holds a BA from SFU. After graduating from law school, Amrita completed her articles at a boutique firm specializing in workers’ compensation claims & appeals.

At PGK Lawyers, Amrita’s practice areas include insurance defence, personal injury, employment law, workers’ compensation law, commercial law, and wills & estates.

While in law school, Amrita co-produced a podcast in which she advocated for the importance of employment law reforms within the South Asian arts and entertainment industry.
 

Outside of the office, Amrita enjoys the outdoors, exploring new ice cream and gelato joints, running, and spending time with family & friends.

Hamish is a member of PGK solicitors’ team. His practice focuses on the sale and acquisition of businesses, commercial financing, franchising law, and general corporate matters. Hamish advises clients in a variety of industries including IT, service, food, and construction.

Hamish was called to the BC Bar in May 2021 after articling at PGK Lawyers. He holds a JD from the University of Calgary and a BA from UVic. While attending law school, he participated in the BLG Business Venture Clinic, Calgary’s Student Legal Assistance Program, and various negotiation competitions.

When not working, Hamish enjoys skiing, camping, and spending time with his French bulldog, Roger.

Colton attended law school at UBC prior to joining the firm as an articled student in 2021. Before law school, Colton completed his BA at UBC Okanagan.

During his time in law school, Colton focused his studies on corporate and commercial law and litigation, graduating with a Business Law Concentration in 2021.

As an articled student, Colton now assists the litigation and solicitors’ teams at PGK Lawyers and focuses on construction law, insurance defence, and commercial litigation.

Jordan studied at the University of Victoria between 2018-2020 to earn his JD. Prior to that, he completed his BA at SFU with a major in philosophy and a minor in political science. He took a particular interest in moral philosophy and international diplomacy.

Since beginning as an articling student, Jordan has gained experience in personal injury & immigration law. He remains open and curious to different areas of the law, but has so far appreciated acquiring insight into the immigration process.

Outside of work, Jordan enjoys work/life balance through electronic music production as well as plenty of stretching and exercise.
