MEET OUR LAWYERS
Wayne Powell graduated from the University of British Columbia and was called to the Bar in 1969. He articled and practiced with the firm, becoming a partner in 1973.
Initially a successful litigator specializing in family law, the focus of his practice has now grown to include real estate, wills and estates, and corporate and commercial matters.
In addition, Wayne provides legal services and consultation to G&F Financial Group, BC's leading credit union with 30,000 members, 16 locations and over $2B in assets under administration.
Wayne is the author of the best-selling "BC Divorce Guide" for Self-Counsel Press which went to a 20th Edition.
D. Stuart Gray graduated from the University of Victoria in 1989. After practicing on Vancouver Island as a trial lawyer, he joined HPPG in 1994, becoming a partner in 1997.
Stuart is currently the senior counsel for the firm, providing litigation services in areas of plaintiff personal injury, professional negligence, insurance claims and employment disputes. He also provides litigation services in association with the solicitors' practice.
Stuart is a member of the Canadian and BC Bar Associations, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and a member of the Vancouver GLBA. In addition, he is also admitted to practice law in the State of Washington.
Andrew articled with the firm in 2013 and became a partner in 2018. Andrew represents local and overseas clients in litigation matters including personal injury, commercial disputes, and real property disputes. He also advises clients on business transactions and commercial leasing matters.
Andrew is fluent in Korean and is appointed as the legal advisor to the Consulate of the Republic of Korea. He is a director of the Vancouver Korean-Canadian Scholarship Foundation and the North Road BIA and vice-chair of the National Unification Advisory Council.
Andrew completed his JD at the University of Victoria and obtained a BA from UBC.
Bryan completed his JD at the University of Alberta in 2017, and he holds a BA from University of British Columbia. After graduating from the UofA, Bryan completed his articles at a boutique law firm where he practiced estate planning and tax litigation.
At Powell, Gray & Kim LLP, Bryan focuses on wills and estates, civil litigation, corporate and commercial law, and insurance defence.
While in law school, Bryan was involved with Student Legal Services of Edmonton where he assisted the low income community with their criminal matters by providing legal information and representation in the Provincial Court of Alberta.
Find Bryan playing basketball, weight lifting, hiking, and snowboarding or honing his cooking skills.
Hamish is a member of both the litigation and solicitors’ teams at PGK Lawyers. Hamish primarily has focused in the areas of construction law, commercial transactions, estate planning and litigation, as well as insurance defence. While attending law school, Hamish participated in the University of Calgary’s Student Legal Assistance.
Having worked at the firm in one capacity or another for 15 years, you could say Hamish grew up with the team.
When not working, Hamish enjoys skiing, camping, and spending time with his French bulldog, Roger.
Shaun obtained a degree in Kinesiology and his Juris Doctor at the University of British Columbia in 2020.
While in law school, Shaun took part in the LSLAP program and was co-president of the Asia Pacific Law Club.
Shaun started his articling year assisting the insurance defence section of the firm. He has also gained experience with the team in the area of his primary interest, being a solicitors practice, particularly within real estate and corporate law. Shaun expects successfully to complete PLTC during the winter session.
